This email could save your life

I know that sounds bold, but it's true.

I despise clickbait. It's hard to write a compelling subject line without feeling shady. But I'm doubling down on the "save your life" thing. This week's episode 100% has the opportunity to do some serious good. So here's my legit question:

According to the CDC, about 1 in 16 women age 20 and older have coronary heart disease, and about 1 in every 5 female deaths are heart related. It is the leading killer of women in the United States and globally. But even today, and despite an increase in awareness, only about half of women recognize that heart disease is their number 1 killer.

February is American Heart Month, a time to raise awareness of cardiovascular health. If we can make Heart Month half as popular as Breast Cancer Awareness month, I think we might just save some lives. Dr. Martha Gulati is a cardiologist at Cedars Sinai in LA, where she's a professor of cardiology and the director of prevention. In the most recent episode of The Grown-Ass Woman's Guide, she shares some of the early signs of heart trouble -- and they might surprise you. Plus, she tells us exactly what we should do to find out our risk of heart disease and preventative steps we can take to preserve our tickers.

And speaking of taking control of our health, Courtney Townley knocks it out of the park once again. If you're not familiar, I've had Courtney on the podcast many times because she's all about helping us find our personal power. She's so motivating in the way she positions health and inspires so many to make sh*t happen, which you know is my love language. In last week's episode, she provided the much needed reminder that we need to stop blaming our bodies and start loving on them. Take a listen here.

By the way, if you're new here, I don't do weight loss content. We have enough guilt and shame thrown at us (sometimes from within our own heads), I'm not into it. But what I do care about is being the best we can be and my guests on TGAWG share that same passion. If you're interested, Courtney is hosting a LIVE round of her Healthiest Year Yet Challenge, February 13th - 17th, and you are invited to participate for FREE. She'll be teaching LIVE inside of a pop-up Facebook group each day of the event and giving you lots of opportunities to win some great prizes. The daily video will then be uploaded into an online classroom. There is nothing you need to do prior to the event, except register!

CHECK THIS OUT!

So I've been giving this a lot of thought. Like A LOT. I’m so tired of seeing incredibly talented, experienced creatives over 40 feel like they’ve aged out or can’t find success anymore. It can be extremely challenging to pivot into something new.

I feel a huge pull to do something about it. Enter Grown-Ass Creative, an agency that collaborates with brilliant, experienced women over 40 who will get it done and get it done well. *Because let's face it, they’ve done it over and over again for decades.*

The details need to be ironed out but the wheels are in motion. I’m putting it out into the world right now because I am confident this is something that is very much needed and absolutely possible.

We’re about to change the face of podcast production and marketing. Watch us. And hit REPLY if you're interested in being a part of the team or hiring Grown-Ass Creative where you work!
